Performance Calendar

April, 2007--Benefit for Autisim Center, Montclair, NJ

On Thursday, April 12, 2007 at 7:00 p.m. Peter will perform a benefit concert for The Autism Center of the New Jersey Medical School at Montclair State University, the Alexander Kasser Theater, Montclair, N. J. The evening will feature composer Steven Sacco and a "Young Artists" recital of solo works by three of Steven's students. Peter will perform his Piano Quintet in C minor, as well as other solo works (TBA).

March, 2007--Inspirational Journey, New York, NY

On Thursday, March 22, 6:30 PM Peter will perform solo works of Rachmaninoff, Shostakovich, and The Rite of Spring for four hands, with Dimitri Glivinski of Mannes College. The program is titled, " Inspirational Journey: American and Russian Composers." The program will be held at Merkin Concert Hall at the Kaufman Center, NYC.

August, 2006--Music@Menlo Young Performers Program, Atherton, CA

As a student in the Chamber Music Institute of Music at Menlo, Peter and his colleagues will perform the Dvorak Piano Quartet in E-flat Major, op. 87, the Shostakovich Piano Quintet in g minor, Op. 57, and the Brahms Piano Quartet no. 1 in G minor, Op. 25. The Chamber Music Institute will take place July 23 -August 11, 2006. See Music@Menlo web site periodically for information on the concert schedules and open rehearsals.

June, 2006 -- Solo Recital, Steinway Hall, New York, NY

On Saturday, June 24, 2006 Peter will present a solo recital at Steinway Hall, 109 W. 57th Street, New York, New York. Seating is limited to invited guests. Included are works from Bach, Beethoven, and Chopin. Click "Contact" on the left for more information.

On Tuesday, June 20, 2006 Peter will perform selected etudes by Scriabin and excerpts from Pictures at an Exhibition by Mussorgsky. The program is titled "The Mighty Five and Their Legacy" and will be a benefit for the Kaufman Center's Scholarship Fund. The event is a celebration of the 4th Annual Russian Heritage Week, featuring students of Genya Paley. The Finale -- The Great Gate of Kiev -- is in an arrangement for two pianos by Peter Asimov, and will be performed by Peter, Dmitri Glivinsky and Andrei Cabrera. The program will be held at Merkin Hall in New York at 7:00 p.m. Admission is $10.

On Saturday, June 17, 2006 Peter will be performing piano trios by Brahms and Dvorak with his chamber music trio at Mannes College of Music, 150 West 85th Street NY, NY (between Amsterdam and Columbus Avenues). The concert will be held at 4:30 p.m. in Goldmark Hall, third floor. The program is general admission, free of charge.

February, 2006 -- Music@Menlo Winter Residency, Atherton, California

February 6 through 13, 2006, Music@Menlo will present their Winter Residency performers on the campus of the Menlo School. The residency features selected alumni of the Festival's Chamber Music Institute in public concerts, audience building events and private performances in corporate foundations and private homes, from the Peninsula up to San Francisco, Ca. Peter will perform solo and chamber works with other Music@Menlo instrumentalists. [more info] On Friday, February 10th, Peter will participate in Writer's Week, a program on composing and interpreting music.

October, 2005 -- Vermont Philharmonic

You can purchase your tickets and book lodging.  Here is an October 7, 2005 article anticipating the concerts [archive copy], written by Jim Lowe, arts reporter and music critic for the Times Argus (Barre-Montpelier). A review of the first of two performance dates, titled "Pianist Wins Over Philharmonic Audience" is now available. [archived copy (PDF)]

In the first half of both programs, instrumentalists of the Vermont Philharmonic will perform the Wedding Quintet in E-flat Major, one of Peter's recent chamber music compositions. In the second half of each program Peter will be the guest soloist in the Chopin Concerto No. 1, Op. 11, in E minor. The concert will also include Fanfare for the Common Man by Copland, the Little Suite for Strings, Op. 1 by Nielsen.

The program will be performed on Sunday, Oct. 9, 2005 at 3:30 p.m. in the Barre Opera House, Barre, Vermont, and again on Sunday, Oct. 16, 2005 at 3:30 p.m. in Stowe, Vermont at the Auditorium at Stowe High School. Both concerts will be conducted by Louis A. Kosma.

On October 7, Peter will visit local Vermont schools to discuss and perform excerpts from this program.
